Hawaii Safaris
Overview
Hawaii is the only place in the U.S. to hunt pure free range mouflon sheep and Hawaii Safaris private hunting areas holds some of Hawaii's most prime mouflon sheep habitat and populations. Known as European big horn sheep, mouflon thrive in Hawaii's beautiful rugged and unique terrain. It is common to see 20 - 30 sheep per day and our mature rams can sport up to 32" horns and are a true prized trophy.
Black Hawaiian Sheep were first introduced to Hawai'i by Capt. Vancouver in the late 1700's. Large populations exist in our upper elevation dry land forest and meadows. Mouflon Sheep are generally hunted in steeper open upland terrain and have excellent eye sight. Trophy Black Hawaiian and Mouflon rams sport horns in the 30"+ range. Mouflon hunts are conducted on a neighboring island and are a two day package.
